‘Global community must act to stop bombing’

PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise War has called on the international community to immediately work together to urge Israel to stop its air strikes in the Gaza Strip.
“The foundation also calls upon the American and British government as well as other major powers to put necessary pressure on Tel Aviv to stop the inhuman slaughter of Palestinian men, women and children in Gaza with bombs and other weapons,” said the foundation’s chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“We are shocked and angered over the Israeli invasion of Gaza last Saturday. Our hearts go out to the people of Gaza in this time of great distress,” he said in a statement Wednesday.
Dr Mahathir added that the foundation supported the call by the United Nations for an immediate ceasefire and an end to all military operations to facilitate relief work and delivery of humanitarian aid to the victims.
